Anniversary Trip
San Juan Islands
Day 1 Home - Friday Harbor, San Juan Island

27 without gear
3.5 hours ride time
- Left the car at Anacortes, WA ferry terminal
- Took 2:00 pm ferry to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island
- Rode around town and saw fairgrounds
- Rode 5 miles out to Lakedale Resort campground with gear
- Left gear at camp. Rode to Roche Harbor, british Camp, San Juan campground, and Lime Kiln State Park with cute light house.
- Rode down coast then cut through on Wold Rd and Egg Lake Road to return to camp. 27 mile ride
Day 2 - Friday Harbor - Orcas Island
29.1 miles
22 with gear 7 without
3.5 hours ride time
- Spilled boiling wather on Kricket's leg at breakfast. Gave her a blessing. (Used oils and Aunt Cindy's ointment)
- Packed up camp. Rode into Friday Harbor with gear. 5 miles
- Left gear at Island Bicycles shop.
- Rode 6 miles out to American Camp. Saw visitors center. Rode out to historic sites in the rain. Hitched a ride with bikes in a pick-up back to town with the Moore family. He is an actor on the island for the summer, but from Boise, ID.
- Grabbed lunch to take on ferry to Orcas Island.
- Rode from ferry 13 miles. Stopped in town of Eastbay to buy groceries, bandages and dry a few things at the laundromat. Also visited two art studios.
- Got to Moran State Park, set up in primitive campground.
- Ate, (walked a mile to the shower and back) showered, went to bed.
- Cooler weather, but no more rain.
- Feel blessed that Kricket's burn is doing so well.
Day 3 - Orcas Island
20 miles with no gear
2.75 hours ride time
- After breakfast we hiked 1/2 mile to a few small waterfass, near Cascade Falls.
- Rode up to top of Mt Constitution! Kricket did it with Garrett! Very hard climb, 4.8 miles with 1800 ft. in elevation. The view was amazing and the clouds cleared enough to see many islands and the sound.
- We rode down for lunch at camp.
- Then we rode about 5 miles to Olga to see a few artist studios, and continued to Obstruction Pass State Park.
- We hiked .6 miles down to the beach and campground at Obstruction Pass.
- Rode back to camp for dinner.
- We are tired, but relaxed and fulfilled.
- Oh, and before dinner we walked back to see Cascade Falls, then showered in the pool at the base of the Cavern Falls.
Day 4 - Orcas Island - Home
18 miles with gear
- Packed up gear after breakfast and headed out.
- Rode into Eastbay to visited another couple of art studios. (This was really neat that we got to see all of these artists in their element. Grabbed some lunch.)
- Visited another art studio on our way to the ferry.
- Caught the ferry back to Anacortez.
- Drove home, stopping for dinner at Five Guys.
