January 2016 Week #2

Dear Kids,
Barnum's Sunday Best
Week #2
We are enjoying trying our best to keep the Sabbath day holy.  Sometimes it is harder than others and it is always more work but we are trying hard to follow the prophet and are hoping that the Sabbath will become "a delight" for us soon.  We have done Sunday Station in the past and decided to try that again.  With our new morning church time that means we do Sunday Stations after church.  Here are the stations:
Scriptures
Journal/Personal Progress/Faith in God
Church Magazines
Nap
Screen time (Church videos)
Church Games (Ipad)
Write or Draw a picture of Family or missionaries

We started the week with some exercise by biking/running to preschool.  Trey has been out of school for awhile and decided in January that he was ready to go back.  He is doing really well and hope that this is a good sign that he will be ready for kindergarten in the fall.  Trey always has a lot of energy and loves it when he can bike or run to preschool.

Jenna got her braces a couple of months ago but this week she chose to do a rainbow of colors and her doctor was good enough to do that.

We love to get outside and during the winter that can sometimes be hard with lots of rain.  Some days I just decide we need to get out there anyway and it is almost always worth it, even when you get soaked.  This week I took the two littles and my extras out for a morning walk/bike and it was wet and wonderful.

On Thursday we had a fun adventure by riding the Maxx train to the Children's Museum.  I took four boys on the train and it was a lot of fun.  They really enjoy the Children's Museum.
On Thursday night I got to go the the temple with Avery Cottle to see her go through for the first time. It was neat to get to be a part of that.  Then on Friday, Dad and I went to the sealing.  It was a special day for Jacob and Avery and they were so excited and happy to be married.  After the sealing and the luncheon we picked up you kids and drove down to Eugene to be part of the wedding reception.  I wished we would have brought you all to see them come out of the temple instead.

Garrett got a gift card to the StoneWorks Climbing place by our house.  He is having a fun time going there are the weekends and evenings that he has free.  This week he took Ryder for a special date and they had a great time.

Saturday family bike ride.  It was nice when we left and pouring rain by the time we arrived at Value Village.  We had hoped to be able to ride back but it was so wet and cold and the trail was flooded so Garrett rode back and brought the car to pick us up.

What a full and excited week.  We love each of you kids very much.
